The
H. R. D. Cell is headed
by an Executive Director
who holds the rank of
Chief Engineer. He is
assisted by Director in
the rank of Superintending
Engineer, one Joint Director
in the rank of Executive
Engineer, two Deputy Directors
(Assistant Engineer) along
with eight Field Officers
(Junior Engineer) and
other supporting ministerial
staff.

Activities of HRD |
| To
fulfil the delineated objectives
following activities were
taken up by the Cell. |
| (i)
Grass Root Level Training
( G. R. L. T. ) in different
focal themes. |
| The
targets for skill development
at grass root level was
to train at least one villager
selected from each village
panchayat in each of the
following three focal themes.
Duration of each training
was 5 days. |

Hand
Pump Mechanic training
for maintenance
of hand pumps at
village level.

|
|
Training
of Mason of construction
of low cost toilets
and sanitation system
at village level.
|
|
|
Training
to a motivator from
each village panchayat
to mobilise community
participation, creation
of awareness towards
health and hygiene
practices and community
support.

| The
State comprises of 52029
Village Panchayats which
are grouped in 820 Development
Blocks. Total 61740 persons
were trained in the above
slated 3 themes.These persons
belong to 17800 Village
Panchayats forming part
of 283 Development Blocks.
Still at least 34250 persons
need to be trained in each
of the above 3 themes to
achieve the desired goal.
