To arrange Grass Root Level Trainings in different themes viz Hand Pump Mechanic, Mason for rural sanitation, motivators to develope awareness about health and hygiene practices and also to mobilise community participation..
Providing in service training for professionals for improving performance levels and productivity.
To act as Co-ordinating/ Nodal agency for co-ordination between important teaching/ training institutes, Rural Development Ministry and other state level agencies working for training programmes.
Improving the capabilities of technological sector in rural water supply to provide innovative cost affordable and appropriate technologies.
Staffing Pattern
The H. R. D. Cell is headed by an Executive Director who holds the rank of Chief Engineer. He is assisted by Director in the rank of Superintending Engineer, one Joint Director in the rank of Executive Engineer, two Deputy Directors (Assistant Engineer) along with eight Field Officers (Junior Engineer) and other supporting ministerial staff.
Activities of HRD
To fulfil the delineated objectives following activities were taken up by the Cell.
i) Grass Root Level Training ( G. R. L. T. ) in different focal themes.
The targets for skill development at grass root level was to train at least one villager selected from each village panchayat in each of the following three focal themes. Duration of each training was 5 days.
